Sep 2003 – Board reduces expenses by over $100,000 per year by switching the Tax Collector to the Fort Bend County Tax Office. Aug 2003 – Board adopts the Order Levying Taxes for the 2003 tax year, levying $0.22 per $100 of assessed valuation for the District's debt service requirements and $0.08 for maintenance and operation expenses, for a total tax rate of $0.30 per $100 assessed valuation. Apr 2003 – Board votes to continue the $30,000 exemption for disabled residents and those who are 65 years of age or older. Dec 2002 – Board drafts letter to address damage to District property caused by contractors hired by homeowners to install pools or other amenities in their backyards. Oct 2002 – Director Richard Ward resigns from board for business reasons. Director James McKiernan is elected President. Director Scott Lyons is appointed to fill the vacant position on the Board of Directors Apr 2002 – Desilting project to remove silt from channels is completed at a cost of over $2,000,000. |
