Parks Master Plan
Initiated in 2011, Willow Fork Drainage District’s (WFDD or the “District”) Parks Master Plan, which included park enhancements at 10 schools, approximately 15 miles of off-street trails, and construction of Central Green, Willow Fork and Exploration parks, is expected to be substantially complete by mid 2020. Designed to take advantage of the District’s linear drainage channels to link nearly 30 miles of existing trails, the plan enhances connectivity among neighborhoods, schools and area amenities, including retail, District parks and regional destinations, such as George Bush and Terry Hershey parks. Improvements to Freedom Park, located in George Bush Park and operated by Fort Bend County, also provide expanded baseball fields closer to the District than other complexes in the area.
